Local law enforcement has stationed over 400 firefighters in order to deal with any fires and blazes that could've been caused by the running lava. Furthermore, a local volcanology institute stated that there hasn't been an eruption this large for over 50 years. Multiple houses have been damaged as well as a highway that has been cut off by a wall of lava. The Spanish Prime Minister noted that in the close proximity of the eruption, there is a population of around 80,000 people, as well as a total of 400 tourists...
This is a very informative piece. I thought that it was extremely eye opening and it's hard to believe that these people are surviving in such harsh climates while we sit here and just talk about it. I think that there should be better organization in this process and more of a chance to get parents and their families to a better place.
